RunningfromMay25to30,theongoing2023ZhongguancunForumbeingheldintheChinesecapital"sinnovationhub,hasdrawntopscientists,institutions,andwell-knowninnovationandentrepreneurshipentitiesfromacrosstheworldtodiscussinternationalcooperationonscientificandtechnologicaldevelopment.

Decadesago,peoplewholivedhereneverimaginedthatthisformerlysuburbancommunityofBeijingcouldcommandtheworld"sattentiononeday,norcouldtheyforeseeanationalhigh-techindustrialdevelopmentzonerisingfromtheirfarmingfields.

Lastyear,therewere4,244companiesinZhongguancunwithannualrevenueexceeding100millionyuan(14.13millionU.S.dollars),whichis2.2timesthatof2012.Amongthem,11companiessurpassedthetrillion-yuanrevenuemark.

Overtime,ZhongguancunhasbecomeaflagbearerofChina"sinnovation,bearingwitnesstotherapiddevelopmentofChinesetechnology,withthecontinuousemergenceofsignificantsci-techinnovations,increasinginvestmentinR&D,continuousimprovementofinnovationmechanismsandstrengthenedinternationalcooperation.

FromthesparselypopulatedoutskirtsofBeijingtoanelectronicsindustryclusterinthe1980s,andthentoanational-levelinnovationhubandChina"shighlandofsci-techdevelopment,SiliconValley"sChinesecounterparthasemergedasasymbolofinnovationandhasbeendubbedaremarkablechapterinthehistoryofChina"sreformandopeningupduetoitspioneeringspirit.

Itwasnotuntil1988thatthefirstprivatelyownedhigh-techfirmwasregisteredinZhongguancun.Theenterprise,namedYonyou,obtainedthesciencepark"sfirstprivateenterpriselicense,numbered"SY0001."Overthepastdecades,Yonyoudevelopedfromatwo-personsoftwareservicecompanyintoaleadingproviderofenterprisecloudservices.
